Mingzhuo Liu, born on July 11, 1994, in China, is an accomplished trombonist recognized for his exceptional talent in the orchestral music scene. Mingzhuo’s musical journey reflects a blend of cultural richness and linguistic diversity, as he is proficient in Mandarin Chinese, German, and English.

His orchestral career began with a promising start in 2017 as an intern with the Lübeck Philharmonic Orchestra. This early experience paved the way for his unique musical expression and skill set. Mingzhuo’s prowess as a trombonist was further highlighted during his tenure as a guest solo trombonist with the Schwerin Staatskapelle. By 2018, he had expanded his experience, taking on roles as both the 2nd and 3rd trombonist with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra and as a guest player with the Hamburg State Opera.

From 2019 to 2022, Mingzhuo served as the Solo Trombone for Theater Lübeck and held guest positions with the North German Radio (NDR) Elbphilharmonie Orchester and the Bremer Philharmoniker Orchestra, where his performances were highly acclaimed. His stint as an intern with the Munich Symphony Orchestra in 2020 further broadened his orchestral exposure and skills.

Most recently, in 2023, Mingzhuo has taken on a significant role as the Associate Solo Trombone with the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, marking a notable high point in his ever-evolving career.

Mingzhuo’s academic background is as distinguished as his professional achievements. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at the Musikhochschule Lübeck under Michael Ranzenberger, followed by a Master’s degree from the University of Music and Theater in Munich, where he studied under Professor Wolfram Arndt. His pursuit of a Concert Exam degree at the Trossingen State University of Music under Professor Abbie Conant from 2021 to 2023 underscores his dedication to continuous learning and excellence in his field.
