Tássio Furtado

Tássio Furtado is one of the most outstanding trumpeters of his generation. He is currently Utility/Trumpet at the Minas Gerais Philharmonic Orchestra since 2014. Previously, he held the position of Trumpet Soloist at the Goiás State Philharmonic Orchestra during the 2013 and 2014 seasons, under the baton of the British Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Neil Thomson.

In 2007, he starts the bachelor’s degree on trumpet at the Federal University of Santa Maria under the tutelage of professors Jordelei dos Santos and Enio Guerra. He was part of the Santa Maria Symphony Orchestra and the Wind Orchestra of the University of Santa Maria - RS, Orchestra Sesi/Fundarte, Orchestra of the São Pedro Theater in Porto Alegre, performing concerts traveling through the State of Rio Grande do Sul as a soloist and also as a chamber musician.
In 2020, Tássio Furtado won the third prize in the ICTUS Competition International trumpet competition.

In 2017, he won the first prize at the II National Trumpet Competition of ABT (Brazilian Trumpet Association)

In 2014, he was approved on audition to join YOA (Youth Orchestra of The Americas), performing concerts with the group during the international tour in July and August of the same year.

In 2009, he was the winner of the National Young Soloists Contest of the Sesi/Fundarte Orchestra, performing concerts as a soloist of the orchestra the following season.

Participated in several National and International Festivals, such as: Campos do Jordão International Festival, SESC-RS International Festival, Pacific Region International Music Academy in Canada, and FEMUSC in Santa Catarina and had masterclasses with renowned professors: Ole Edvard Antonsen, Pacho Flores, Reinhold Friedrich, Fernando Dissenha, Charles Schlueter, Pierre Dutot, David Guerrier, Yigal Meltzer.
