Vincent Kim

Vincent Yim was born in Hong Kong in 2002. At the age of 18, Vincent began pursuing a Bachelor of Music Degree at the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Raymond Mase, former principal trumpet of the New York City Ballet Orchestra, and Chris Martin, principal trumpet of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Vincent is a proud recipient of a Kovner Fellowship.
Vincent’s musical journey started when he earned the Interlochen Orchestral Full Scholarship, which brought him to study with Vince Dimartino, a world-class trumpet soloist and Professor Emeritus in 2018.

In 2022, Vincent was chosen worldwide to be one of the only two trumpet players for the Pacific Music Festival's Orchestra Academy, where he had the opportunity to study with Tamás Velenczei, former principal trumpet of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and Mark J. Inouye, principal trumpet of the San Francisco Symphony.

Vincent's alma mater, Ying Wa College and Ying Wa Primary School, also took him on music exchanges to Malaysia, Australia, Austria, the Netherlands, and the UK, where he received gold awards with various ensembles in international music competitions. Vincent’s past teachers include Kelvin Ngai, Sierra Tse, and Fung Ka Hing.
